As per reports, the Oakland Democrat Representative, Barbara Lee, was very recently declared as the co-chair of the bi-partisan group which was created in 2017 to discuss the marijuana laws. A person of color has never served as a leader of this organization before. Lee finds that this is proof of disparity in the manner marijuana law is being enforced in the country.
She says that she can encourage a number of people and individuals of color to be involved in the marijuana polity. She mentions that there is a real organizational and legalized favor in the law and that is what has to be really focused on. It is mostly the black and brown people whose lives have been ruined by the cannabis charges imposed on them. This has to be stopped.
Columbia has legalized the use of cannabis for recreational use but in small amounts. So, have twelve other states. There are more than thirty states that allow the use of medicinal cannabis. But the issue is that the federal government considers cannabis as a high-level illegal substance. This thought needs to be changed.
Through the justice system and efforts towards inequality can be fought. There should be introduced a clear line of distinction in addressing criminal imposition and legal cannabis industry said, Lee. It is definitely not a matter of giggle she feels.
