Newyork governor Cuomo pledged to legalize cannabis in his inaugural address on Tuesday as he was being sworn in for the third term in office. Andrew Cuomo stated that legalization of adults consumption of amateur cannabis would bring economic opportunities and justices not only for the big corporation but also for the poor communities who paid high prices for too long. Newyork city mayor Bill de belaiso endorsed legalization of cannabis last month, this is in his focus on social justice and economic opportunities for people who have fallen victims for cannabis prohibition by law enforcement. During his inauguration speech, the governor declared to propose the most liberal agenda the state had ever seen cannabis being the main topic, he made a task whose aim is to write legal marijuana legislation for the lawmaker to consider on 2019 and orchestrated the health sector to analyse legalization with a study or written report on the positive effects of cannabis legalization and how they surpass the potentially negative influence .
He stated that legalization of cannabis was going to deal with injustices which targeted the African American community and also the minority as no democracy can exist without handling the most fundamental issue affecting the right of the minority. Andrew said, ”we have had two types of justice systems one for the wealthy or well off and the other one for everyone else and that must end”.he also declared an end to the cash bail system. With the legalization of cannabis, there would be a lot of revenue earned by the federal government.
