A number of cannabis factories were recently found in places like a bingo hall, a curry house, family homes and obscure industrial units across the United Kingdom.
Most factories were reported because of community intelligence. Given below are a few hints that a building reveals to you if a cannabis factory is being run inside:
1) Smell
The place will stink very badly, especially in the weeks right before harvest. If you are continuously being bothered with a tomato-plant like smell coming from the neighborhood, it’s perhaps time to call the cops.
2) The building will always be in darkness
Windows remain shut always and may even be taped up to prevent passers-by from poking in. Curtains will be pulled back no matter what, and you might spot a chink of very bright light coming through cracks.
3) Excessive Security
Unnecessarily-built gates, reinforced doors, strong locks and fences are a few common security means at such illicit facilities.
4) A faint continuous buzz
Fans and Hydroponic lights have to continuously work to maintain optimum indoor growing conditions. Thus, the faint noise that you may hear during the night may be because of either or both of the said equipments.
5) Warmth
Cannabis farms are quite hot. If you experience some unexpected warmth coming from the other side of the thin wall that separates you and your immediate neighbor, there may be some shenanigans going on in there.
6) Visitors at strange hours
A lot of risk and money is involved in installing such set-ups. In fact, costs can run up to tens of thousands of dollars. The people whose money is tied up in such projects often send someone during the night to check the quality of the stock and see if everything is fine.
7) Weird deliveries
If you often see plywood, lighting and ventilation equipment going in and coming out of a family house or an obscure building, chances are that something is being grown in there; though it may not necessarily be marijuana, it still remains a possibility.
8) Gardener
Most of such facilities often employ a full-time gardener to tend to the crop – this particular individual is, of course, the first one to be arrested when the house is raided.
